Learn about changes in routes and bus renewal
From Saturday, June 27, 1,160 new Red buses to the system will be added to the operation, gradually, in the framework of fleet renewal given the expiration of the service life and safety conditions of the current buses.
This new fleet will be added to the 1,059 buses that have been operating since 2019, doubling the current offer of services with network standard with security features, universal accessibility, comfort and greater connection. Thus, a total of 2,219 buses, of which 776 are electric and 1,443 ecological (Euro VI), will benefit about 4 million people with a higher standard of quality of service, in addition to protecting our environment by emitting low or zero polluting emissions.
Thus some services operated by Express (orange buses) will become operated by Metbus and STP.
“It is important that when boarding your routes you will look at the bus service number and plan your trip.”
In this way, services 406 – 407 – 422 – 426 – 101 – 401 – 405 – 417e – 421 – 419 – 423- 481 will become electric or ecological (red buses).
While routes 402, 414e, 415e, 422c, 428c, 486, 404, 404c, 412 and 418 will serve with turquoise buses that have better safety and quality of service conditions than the current fleet.
Given these changes, it is important that when boarding your routes you look at the bus service number and plan your trip.
In addition, there will be new routes, mergers and service extensions to improve connectivity and cover new sectors. These changes affect some of the 100, 200, 400, 500, B, J, and F services.
